Via the National Writers Union:
Writing for a blog is different from writing for a website. Although a blog often looks like a website, and may function as a website, it is not the same thing as a website.
When you’re writing for a blog, your focus is different. Your relationship to your audience changes as soon as you start communicating via a blog. Your writing style for blogging needs to evolve as well, to fulfill your purpose in creating and maintaining a blog.
Join us Thursday, December 13, at 1.00 p.m., to hear Merry Bruns talk on “The Craft of Writing for Blogs.”
Merry is a nationally recognized content strategist and web writing trainer, who focuses on communicating content to audiences clearly and effectively. Producing and editing websites since 1994, she brings a background in communications, advertising and journalism to her work.
As principal of ScienceSites Communications, she has produced and edited sites for numerous business, government, educational, and science organization clients.
She’s taught “Writing and Editing for the Web” to hundreds of students worldwide and holds classes at the National Press Club. She provides in-house training to organizations and businesses, customized around their content and needs.
