Technical Difficulties

www.inkthinkerblog.com — Intermittent Internet problems are dramatically interfering with my ability to post, e-mail, and do my work. Can I stress again how much I HATE my ISP? HughesNet sucks. Seriously. I’m paying almost $200/month for the crappiest customer service and least reliable connection I have ever encountered or even heard of. And I don’t have any other options. Rarr. Please bear with me. I’ll be back soon with some good content, I swear.

Kristen, your post moves me to point out that the availability of an adequate DSL or cable Internet connection is an important consideration for when you’re planning your move to Colorado, a very mountainous state.

Oh, believe me, this was at the TOP of the list of requirements for the new place. Both of the cities we’re looking at have Comcast, which is what we used at the old house for cable and internet. There’s no cable here in the boonies, and I will NEVER do that again.

Dang. That sucks, girl. Comcast is much better, and Verizon isn’t awful, either. I hate like hell that you’re going to Colorado, but I’m glad you’ll have better connections. :))

    Even AO-Hell is not $200.

  • Kristen, when you get your technical difficulties ironed out, I’ve tagged you for a meme.

  • Sweetie,

If real-life logistics permited, I’d take you out for a cup of coffe this afternoon–internet problems suck!

But, some aspects of the internet are worth the trouble; I just bought you a virtual cup of coffee :-) Not quite as tasty, but I hope it lifts your spirits all the same.

@Star – I’d give my right arm for AOL right about now. The only connection options out here are dial-up or satellite. Dial-up is just not an option for me at all, and the only satellite package that’s fast enough and doesn’t limit my file transmissions (what’s up with THAT???) is like $189.00/month. It’s absolutely absurd.

@Kathy – Thanks, I’ll add it to my list. :)

@Janet – You’re the best. I needed that! Thank you.
