Giveaway: Win an Epson WorkForce 600 All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer

by Kristen King on February 13, 2009

epson-600.jpg(www.inkthinkerblog.com) — Talk about freelance appreciation! I’ve teamed up with the fabulous folks at Epson to offer my fellow freelancers and small business owners the chance to win a brand-new Epson WorkForce 600 All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer. Scroll to the bottom for details on how enter (after the jump for those reading on the Inkthinker homepage), and read the middle to learn more about this awesome prize.

About the WorkForce 600 All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer

Epson was kind enough to give me one of these bad boys to review last year for a giveaway on Biz Chicks Rule, and I’m still completely in love with this printer. In Epson’s own words:

Epson means business with the new Epson WorkForce 600 all-in-one. Engineered to provide small office or home-based businesses with features that meet their printing needs and speeds that rival laser printers, this cost-effective ink jet delivers laser quality text and superior color images with Epson’s exclusive DURABrite®Ultra ink that are smudge, water, and fade resistant. The WorkForce 600 also offers built-in Wi-Fi and wired networking, a 2.5” tilt LCD screen, and an automatic document feeder to easily scan, copy and fax black and color documents. It also comes with a special industry leading, two-year warranty with toll-free support.

Take a look at the detailed printer fact sheet for more specs.

My Opinion

When I initially reviewed the printer, I said, “I’ve had a hard time finding a printer that (a) I can afford, (b) works with my Mac, and (c) works wirelessly with the five computers in my house while (d) producing high-quality printed pages.” I’m happy to report that 4 months later, I’m still thrilled with the quality, reliability, and speed of this printer, and so is my self-employed business-owner husband.

“I love how fast it prints,” he said, “and the scanner is amazing.” (Here, he pointed to his computer screen to show me a large document he had just scanned, and the image was perfect. I was blown away, as I had previously scanned only small things.) I’ve also been impressed not only with the printing speed, but how quiet this thing is. This is great when you’re sharing an office and are easily distracted, believe me.

As a writer, I’ve found it invaluable to my business to have a fast, high-quality printer at my disposal. Epson claims that the printer produces laser-quality documents, and I have to agree. I’ve had a lot of color inkjet printers in my life, and none even come close to the WorkForce 600in quality and consistency.

It can also handle a much higher printing volume than printers I’ve had in the past, without declining in quality from the beginning of a print job to the end. This is particularly handy for printing large numbers of handouts for speaking engagements and classes.

I use mine for reviewing drafts, printing handouts, printing samples and invoices to send to clients, and creating photos for us and for family and friends. It’s honestly the best printer I’ve ever owned. And it’s a great scanner. AND it’s a fax machine.

The interface is super user friendly, and even my tech-challenge self had no problem getting it online with all of our 5 computers in the house, which include 2 Macs and 3 PCs. (How fun is it to print to the office on the other side of the house when you’re lying in bed with your laptop on a lazy morning catching up on personal e-mail?)

So, in short, I’m thrilled to be able to offer one of these printers to an Inkthinker reader.

How to Win

If you want one of these amazing, possibly magical Epson WorkForce 600 All-in-One Color Inkjet Printers, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post saying whether you currently use an inkjet, a laser printer, or (gasp!) a dot matrix, or if you just don’t have a printer at all. Make sure the e-mail address you provide is valid.

The deadline is Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:59:59 p.m. EST.

The Fine Print

Rules and regs for the contest:

  1. Comments like, “Give it to me!” or “I want to win!” ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. You have to answer the question.
  2. One entry per person, and yes, I do check IP addresses to remove duplicates.
  3. You don’t have to be a writer to win. I, my husband, and the two winners of the giveaway at Biz Chicks Rule are the only people not eligible to enter.
  4. Comments must be received by Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:59:59 p.m. EST
  5. I will use the random sequence generator at Random.org to choose the lucky winner (who will be the first eligible entry in the sequence). The announcement of the winner will be FINAL. No arguing.

Good luck!

I’m in the midst of a divorce and my soon-to-be ex-husband kept our printer. I’m a fledgling freelance writer and have no printer at all! (I also have nothing to use for printing knitting patterns off the internet.) Sniff sniff!!

I currently use an HP LaserJet. It runs out of ink way too often.

writer chick February 20, 2009 at 3:30 pm

Wow, such a deal! I am a long time inkjet user. My first printer was an HP inkjet and I’ve been stuck on inkjets ever since – the print quality is so much better than a laser in my humble opinion that I can’t imagine using anything else.

No matter who wins I think it’s terrific that you want to spread the wealth. Kudos to you. And good luck to all of us.

I got an inkjet

Carol February 20, 2009 at 3:37 pm

I don’t even have a printer. I had one once, it was like an antique, a real piece of junk. I have to constantly ask my husband to print things out at work for me, like recipes, the kids’ reports, etc. I’d love to win !!!!

billie February 20, 2009 at 3:44 pm

We have an inkjet and man, do I hate it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. The worst part is that it’s been like that since day 1.

Leslie Sussan February 20, 2009 at 4:10 pm

Wonderful idea to offer something SO essential to writers. I have an older Brothers inkjet but it is not wired and so it is a problem when I have something written on my laptop instead of the desktop that is hooked up to it.

Thanks for the opportunity, Kirsten, and the information on the Epson.

We currently have a brother laser printer. The previous ink jet died an unpleasant death :D THanks!

Brian February 20, 2009 at 4:38 pm

I currently have an inkjet, but it’s not wireless, and it’s not this dead sexy.

Stephen Dayton February 20, 2009 at 4:48 pm

I have a HP psc 2210 all in one inkjet printer. It has done me well these past 7-8 years. It has been the best printer I have had thus far.

Thanks for the opportunity
Peace and Harmony,

Thanks for the great contest! My company allows me to work from home…so I use their provided computer equipment. My printer is pretty good…it’s a laser combo (printer, scanner, copier, fax). HOWEVER, I would really LOVE to have a color printer for printing pictures!

Phil February 20, 2009 at 5:38 pm

Wow This printer looks awsome thank you for such a great offer. I have an older epson inkjet now and I am looking to update.

Carol Upton February 20, 2009 at 6:12 pm

I currently use an old inkjet, but since my PR business has taken off and I do a lot more writing (and printing) these days, especially colour, I would like to donate my old one to our local shelter and totally appreciate a brand new one!

Jim Collins February 20, 2009 at 6:14 pm

I use an inkjet. It’s a fairly new HP but it is designed more for photos and such, not business. I regret buying it.

Madeline February 20, 2009 at 6:22 pm

My printer is broken, but in its former glory it was an inkjet.

I’m currently using a Epson Stylus CX6000. It’s been a really good all-n-one printer………it’s getting pretty tired being used everyday by hubby and I.

Vickie Bartlett February 20, 2009 at 8:45 pm

I have an inkjet printer currently, but not an all in all like this. It would also be nice to have one that can be used wired or wireless.

ClumberKim February 20, 2009 at 9:03 pm

Aging inkjet here. This would be a serious upgrade.

I have an old inkjet and it uses more ink than it reproduces on paper – when the paper isn’t jammed, that is! It’s also a behemoth, taking up a large chunk of real estate on my table. This one looks sleek, promises efficiency and I can only drool over the wi-fi feature!

Thanks for this great giveaway!

Howdy….

Here’s my half hearted attempt at being a blatant sycophant. I currently have a wireless laser printer for businessplayce and would quite frankly love to have a color printer for those folks who need to print color documents.

Ummmm Pick Me!

I have a 10 year old HP printer that is on it’s last leg. I am so thankful that I ran across this contest. I have 52 minutes to convince you that I am the most deserving of this prize. My printer was a gift from my older daughter. And while I love her… the printer… not so much. I have just last month launched my freelance writing career to break away from the educational rollercoaster that is the life of a middle school teacher. This machine would be such a great help in making the most of my new career. I hope you will consider me to win this contest. Thanks, so much… Diana

AutumH February 20, 2009 at 11:48 pm

I believe I use an inkjet printer, its a Brohter brand. It bites though because if you run out of one color of ink it wont use the others at all even if their full.

Kristen King February 21, 2009 at 12:01 am

The contest is now closed! I’ll announce the lucky winner on Monday. Thanks for entering!
