About the WorkForce 600 All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer
Epson was kind enough to give me one of these bad boys to review last year for a giveaway on Biz Chicks Rule, and I’m still completely in love with this printer. In Epson’s own words:
Epson means business with the new Epson WorkForce 600 all-in-one. Engineered to provide small office or home-based businesses with features that meet their printing needs and speeds that rival laser printers, this cost-effective ink jet delivers laser quality text and superior color images with Epson’s exclusive DURABrite®Ultra ink that are smudge, water, and fade resistant. The WorkForce 600 also offers built-in Wi-Fi and wired networking, a 2.5” tilt LCD screen, and an automatic document feeder to easily scan, copy and fax black and color documents. It also comes with a special industry leading, two-year warranty with toll-free support.
Take a look at the detailed printer fact sheet for more specs.
My Opinion
When I initially reviewed the printer, I said, “I’ve had a hard time finding a printer that (a) I can afford, (b) works with my Mac, and (c) works wirelessly with the five computers in my house while (d) producing high-quality printed pages.” I’m happy to report that 4 months later, I’m still thrilled with the quality, reliability, and speed of this printer, and so is my self-employed business-owner husband.
“I love how fast it prints,” he said, “and the scanner is amazing.” (Here, he pointed to his computer screen to show me a large document he had just scanned, and the image was perfect. I was blown away, as I had previously scanned only small things.) I’ve also been impressed not only with the printing speed, but how quiet this thing is. This is great when you’re sharing an office and are easily distracted, believe me.
As a writer, I’ve found it invaluable to my business to have a fast, high-quality printer at my disposal. Epson claims that the printer produces laser-quality documents, and I have to agree. I’ve had a lot of color inkjet printers in my life, and none even come close to the WorkForce 600in quality and consistency.
It can also handle a much higher printing volume than printers I’ve had in the past, without declining in quality from the beginning of a print job to the end. This is particularly handy for printing large numbers of handouts for speaking engagements and classes.
I use mine for reviewing drafts, printing handouts, printing samples and invoices to send to clients, and creating photos for us and for family and friends. It’s honestly the best printer I’ve ever owned. And it’s a great scanner. AND it’s a fax machine.
The interface is super user friendly, and even my tech-challenge self had no problem getting it online with all of our 5 computers in the house, which include 2 Macs and 3 PCs. (How fun is it to print to the office on the other side of the house when you’re lying in bed with your laptop on a lazy morning catching up on personal e-mail?)
So, in short, I’m thrilled to be able to offer one of these printers to an Inkthinker reader.
How to Win
If you want one of these amazing, possibly magical Epson WorkForce 600 All-in-One Color Inkjet Printers, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post saying whether you currently use an inkjet, a laser printer, or (gasp!) a dot matrix, or if you just don’t have a printer at all. Make sure the e-mail address you provide is valid.
The deadline is Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:59:59 p.m. EST.
The Fine Print
Rules and regs for the contest:
- Comments like, “Give it to me!” or “I want to win!” ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. You have to answer the question.
- One entry per person, and yes, I do check IP addresses to remove duplicates.
- You don’t have to be a writer to win. I, my husband, and the two winners of the giveaway at Biz Chicks Rule are the only people not eligible to enter.
- Comments must be received by Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:59:59 p.m. EST
- I will use the random sequence generator at Random.org to choose the lucky winner (who will be the first eligible entry in the sequence). The announcement of the winner will be FINAL. No arguing.
Good luck!

We gave away our Canon inkjet when we moved. Currently we have no printer…and long for one.
I’ve used ink jets for years. And I’ve used HP’s ink jets for years. Right now I have their Officejet J5780 All-in-One… hated it until I found larger print cartridges, but this is probably my last hp because they’ve made it almost impossible to get non-hp ink for it… ink is the razor blades of printing.

I do not currently own a printer, but when I do need to print the odd document, I head over to the library.

I use an inkjet at the moment.
I have an inkjet HP all-in-one. It’s quality is okay, but I’m disappointed with how often it runs out of ink. And it doesn’t fax so it’s not really all-in-one.

I use an HP LaserJet P1005. Cheap, but effective for my purposes. I am also Canadian, if that is a problem don’t enter me. I will pay any associated customs/tax etc if selected as the winner if you do enter me.
I’m currently using an inkjet printer that’s on its last legs. I was just hunting around for a new one when I saw this contest! *fingers crossed*
I use a 7-year-old HP OfficeJet G85xi. But it is less and less friendly with newer systems and wireless printer networking sounds great!
I use a 4-year-old HP inkjet all-in one. It’s okay but uses a lot of ink. And when I use it with my Mac, it only scans one section of the page; I have to manually configure it each time. Boo.
I currently use an HP inkjet (deskjet 1500). I think it has the smallest ink cartridge of all time. I am always re-filling that stupid thing! Thanks for the contest.
I use a simple Brother inkjet
Hi Kristen! I’m using an HP inkjet which doesn’t work with my mac for some reason and I can really relate to your quest to find a top-quality printer that works with both platforms *easily* because it’s been quite a hassle! And wireless networking would be amazing indeed–I currently have my computers set up on both ends of the house, and have been known to carry the printer from one end to the other more than once in a day. (Because one computer has a program on it that the other computer doesn’t–for Word docs and stuff, I move the file, not the printer, of course ;-).)

I use a HP laserjet. Good little workhorse. But my Epson C66 inkjet has seen better days. Thanks for the chance.

I have a Cannon i990 which is mostly for my photos, and a Minolta QMS which is a great workhorse, but has been WELL used. A new printer would be great! Thanks for the contest. Good luck to everyone! Love your site!

I have an old HP inkjet that I got for free when my original printer arrived broken. Twas nice, but it’s definitely falling apart a bit now, unfortunately.
Thanks for the opportunity and my email is in the comment info box things!

Sadly, I don’t have a printer… but I definitely need one! I always run to a local internet cafe to print and scan stuff. Pain in the butt. So if I win this contest, I’d be pretty happy.
I currently use an inkjet. Thanks!
I use an Epson Stylus and think it’s fabulous. Fast scanning and great colour printing. Just the thought of maybe upgrading is enough to turn me into a grinning idiot!
I currently use an HP All-In-One scanner, fax, copy, printer, but am not satisfied with the speed, quality or reliability. Thank you for running the contest.
I, ironically, just finished returning a borrowed printer, so that puts me in the catagory of not having a printer of my own.

I have an inkjet that performs okay. But I’d love an upgrade! This Epson printer sounds amazing.

I am currently using an HP Office Jet G85 printer/scanner/fax. The printer and fax work well, but the scanner is inoperative. Given the machine’s age, I will have no grounds for complaint if it stops working today. A replacement would be very welcome.
Inkjet that currently jams every couple pages or feeds the pages crooked. I probably I will have no printer soon.
I have a Canon inkjet.

We have an HP Inkjet color printer. We’ve had it for a long time, and it’s OK. If I need anything of really high quality, I have to go to a print shop, tho. Pictures look kind of pixelated, even for the photo quality print. But it’s not horrible. The part of this Epson printer that really appeals to me is the copy/scan option. I need a scanner and a copier… and have been putting it off.

I have a dell printer piece of scrap..was replaced under warranty then screwed up again…worst printer I have ever owned.
With my kids in high school they scan and print almost daily and a new epson would solve alot of problems around our house
I have a HP T65 four-in-one printer. Nowadays, it’ packed up. Wish to have a new one. Will be the happiest to win this one.
Thanks for the contest! We have an inkjet printer.
I use an inkjet.

I use an inkjet printer, thanks!
I have two printers I use – an older HP laser jet printer and an older HP all-in-one inkjet machine.
I have an old HP inkjet stuffed in a closet. It never worked right, so now I use Kinkos!

We use a laser printer for black and white, but we don’t have a color printer at all. Please pick me!
I have an Epson inkjet printer that is not wireless, so this would be a good upgrade!
Many thanks.
I had an HP 6300 all-in-one, but wasn’t ecstatic with it. We now have a Kodak printer/scanner, but it runs out of ink so quickly that it’s too expensive to maintain.

I have an HP Officejet, which I use with an iMac and a Macbook, but not wirelessly, which would be very cool.
I currently use an HP All in One printer that is not being very co-operative. It’s only about 2 months old. It uses lots of ink, even on fast draft print. It goes offline all the time and more of a pain that what it is worth. The last HP was awesome and we loved it but wanted to update. Maybe we should not have trashed the old one. Dummy me!
I am currently using an ink jet. We had a laser, but it was more than we really needed. The problem I have now is that the printer is in my husband’s office and I could REALLY use one in my scrapbook room to print photos and elements for my pages while I’m crafting! This would be perfect!

No printer here. Would have come in handy this month to enter my novel in a writing contest and send out proposals to agents and publishers. Going to a shop gets expensive, especially when printing out 5-10 proposal copies a month.
I use an inkjet (HP), shared with my grad-student fiance, so it’s been getting quite a work-out… which would make this a nice time to upgrade!
I currently own an inkjet printer. I would love to have an all-in-one for it’s multi-function ability!
