What [Posts] Would Jesus Flag?

www.inkthinkerblog.com — I think I just found the best line in a job ad ever.

The “employer” is seeking a co-author for a novel set in apocalyptic times, with an obviously religious title. In addition to basically saying that they have a title and nothing else (he or she wants the “collaborator” to do all of the research plus write “dialogue and action”), this poster has very clear expectations on who may and may not respond to the ad:

Beginners please do not apply. Remember God watches…

Yeah, God is watching me roll my eyes at you right now, jerk.

I had forgotten how entertaining online job boards can be. Ahh, the good old days. Is this nostalgia I’m feeling? Or just that second glass of wine on a “school night”?

What kind of money can be made submitting articles to blogs and websites?

    • Kristen King Dec 30, 2010 Link

It really depends on the individual sites. Some places pay a fraction of a sent per word, whereas others pay 50+ per post. Use your discretion and shop around.

Yeah, I’m rolling my eyes at that one, too. I still check the job boards, though, because I have found some legitimately good gigs on them. I guess it’s like the old joke about having to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince (or princess, as the case may be). Thanks for the laugh, and Happy New Year.

It’s gotta be the wine. LOL

The job boards are entertaining, aren’t they? At least they serve a small function beyond mere annoyance.

Classic- who knows, you could be missing out on the next billion-dollar Mel Gibson Christian Franchise. That crowd doesn’t seem to concern themselves too much with quality content anyhow.

This blog just made me smile. Yeah, it’s true, it’s quite hard to find good jobs online but from time to time, you do find something interesting and worthy of your time. I agree with Debra’s comment. You gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince or princess.
