www.inkthinkerblog.com — (This whole -tastic thing works for EVERYTHING! I need to patent it or something. :])
I got this in my inbox this morning:
fellows from PPS and left at the passageway. Everyone else was waiting, too.
sand. “Good-bye, Jon, my friend.”
He looked at me kind of strange, hopped off the sill, and started You’d have a falcon’s short wings!
It’s very Magnetic Poetry, don’t you think? So what exactly is the point of this message?
At least this one was clearly a sales pitch:
Younger and older males face this difficulty. Whatever your age, you have the answer. You might have tried other products and failed – the last thing you need is Extra-Time, the no-failure solution. Want to make your intercourse lasting and rewarding than ever before? Come in: www.XfakeXaddressXhere.com You’ll make your equipment suit the task – and she’ll worship you for that!
But what’s with all the nonsensical crap that keeps turning up? Any insight? Really, it would be appreciated. I’m flummoxed.

I’ve been getting a bunch of those, too.
I have two theories:
1. Someone has taken the idea of spam and just pulled a prank, trying to see how far it will go.
2. Someone thinks if you click some sort of link, they can capture your cookie (is that the right term) and keep bugging you.
I prefer theory #1, but it’s probably #2.
The “poetry” is an attempt (often successful) to get past automatic spam filters. By filling the message with enough nonsense, the percentage of filter-triggering words drops. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
But there are never any links in the nonsensical stuff I get. Maybe there’s some secret code that I have to go to spammer school to learn: the third letter of every other word in backwards order is a URL?
Dick, I think you’re exactly right tha they’re trying to get past the filters, but to what end? What’s the point??? The suspsense is killing me.

Me too! I don’t get it! They’re like little bits of insanity hurtled through cyberspace.
I can just hear the new AOL voice: You’ve got CRAAAAAAZY mail.
