Rejection letters: All the cool kids are getting them

www.inkthinkerblog.com — Over at the Absolute Write Water Cooler, one forum member shared that she’d amassed 500 rejections before finding representation for her book. I read that and thought to myself, “Holy crap, 500 rejections? This chick must be sending out at least 10 queries a day! God, I’m a SLACKER.” Then I thought to myself, “What a weird reaction. Wouldn’t most people think, ‘Jeez that person must suck’?” I thought about it for a while, and I’m still not feeling that. I’m still feeling like a slacker. :]

I’m also wishing that I was as cool as Deborah Schwartz. I don’t know her, but I wish I did, cuz she cracks me up. If you’re feeling down about your rejection status, be sure to pay a visit to her rejections page. Probably best to put your drink down first.
