www.inkthinkerblog.com — Nobody at Technorati, anyway. There is some fatal flaw with the coding on my blog, which of course I know nothing about given that IT’S A TEMPLATE. The whole appeal of blogging at Blogger is that’s it’s easy: You type, you click, you go make a margarita. If I wanted to learn HTML and thoroughly code every word I type, I probably wouldn’t be using Blogger, now would I? I ran Technorati’s recommended validation thing, and so did a kind soul in one of my forums, and we have discovered that evidently there are 407 things about my blog that Technorati hates. Only 407? Gee, that’s a relief. This is what I get for jumping on a bandwagon. I give up.

Can’t help with Technorati. Sorry.
:)
I just linked to your blog from mine (which Technorati seems to like), so perhaps that will help to unclog their linking system.
Heather, you’re no good to me! But I’m glad you came by anyway. :]
Simon, thanks. Every little bit helps, I’m sure.
Kristen
Technorati doesn’t seem to know your blog exists, but if you go through the claim process it will give you a piece of code to add to your template. (I’m assuming you’ve edited the template before because of the links in the side bar.)
Add the code and update the blog, then tell TR to rescan it. That should set it all in motion.
The other possibility is that while editing the sidebar links you deleting a closing tag or something, which might be the reason for all the errors you mentioned.
It hates me so much that it won’t even let me claim my blog. I feel seriously rejected.
Is it me, or are these validation words getting longer? xafgqcwq????? Give me a break!
Only 407 errors? Not bad. Now you know how an author feels, getting back a marked up ms ;-)
Seriously, Kristen, Technorati is glitch city, and I’m not sure it has really done anything for me. So if it never works for you, don’t worry too much about it. One thing you should know, though: whatever changes you make can take up to three days to catch with them. And if you write for technical help, chances are you’ll never hear back. It isn’t you; it’s them.
Sorry, I wasn’t at the gate in time to witness your takeoff and landing. You seem not to have lost anything except a half-hour of your life that you’ll never get back. I’ve been too chicken to try swapping templates on my blog, because I’ve customized all the sidebar content and wasn’t sure whether that would carry over if I were to switch templates.
In any case, if you’ll email me the source code for your template, I’ll see if I can figure out where you’re running afoul of Technorati–if you still care.
Dick, I so appreciate this offer. I’m not speaking to Technorati right now, though, so I’m going to take a raincheck. However, I may take you up on it once I’ve had some time to calm down. :]
Thanks!
Kristen
