www.inkthinkerblog.com — Highlights from the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival included hearing Lucille Clifton perform “Homage to My Hips” and listening to readings by Brian Turner, Terrance Hayes, and Len Roberts.
Lucille Clifton performs (and my seat was really bad)
I also enjoyed comments from Mark Doty, Kurtis Lamkin, and Ekiwah Adler Beléndez.
And of course, I was thrilled to find Late Wife, by my former creative writing professor, recent Pulitzer Prize winner Claudia Emerson, on the books table with a big “Pulitzer Prize Winner” sticker on it.
But I think my favorite part of the festival was palling around with my best friend, another Jersey native who transplanted to Virginia a few years after I did.

Woohoo! Glad you had fun :) Wish they’d have something like that around here.
I went to Dodge! Was there Friday, Saturday, and a few hours on Sunday.
Glad you had fun! That’s awesome news about your creative writing prof. I’ll have to read her book sometime– do review it if/when you get a chance to read it!
We’ve missed you!
