www.inkthinkerblog.com — Pickles scared the living daylights out of me about 15 minutes ago when she magically appeared in the office. When I last saw her, she was sleeping on the couch, downstairs, on the other side of the baby gate that keeps her from sneaking up the steps. I briefly thought she had learned to fly, until I discovered that hubby had moved the gate when he left for work and I didn’t realize it.
On a related note, the neighbor’s dog WON’T SHUT UP. I don’t know what is wrong with these people that they leave their barking dog outside 24 hours a day, but it’s getting old FAST. Last fall it was so bad that I actually called the police one night around midnight. They’re better in the evenings than they used to be, but lucky me, I get to listen to their precious yapper all. freakin’. day.
Today’s game plan:
– proof an eight-page newsletter in PDF
– edit 3 medical articles and 6 short book chapters
– get moving on editing for my friend Kristen’s book manuscript, which I’ve had entirely too long and simply haven’t finished yet
– follow up with a client who’s reviewing a letter of agreement
– follow up with a new potential copyediting client who send me a test before I went on vacay and needs to give me instructions
– leave for school ON TIME
Incidentally, this weekend I attended a meeting of the Riverside Writers Club. Despite the fact that I’ve lived in Fredericksburg for 6 years, I had never heard of this long-established group until last week, when I stumbled across one of their fliers at the library and hey, whaddya know, there was a meeting only a few days later. I had a wonderful time and met some cool folks, including freelance writer and columnist Mary Coffman-Burke, who evidently lives in my area. Yay! Local writers!
