I’m reading a great book right now

www.inkthinkerblog.com — It’s called Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life, and I think it may be my new favorite. Amy Krouse Rosenthal has penned a fantastic memoir composed of short, alphabetized, cross-referenced entries in the style of an encyclopedia. The cover was what caught my eye, and then the front jacket copy really sucked me in:

I have not survived against all odds.
I have not lived to tell.
I have not witnessed the extraordinary
This is my story.

It’s positively stunning, the whole thing. So far, my favorite entries are “Brodsky, Joseph,” “Change,” and “Distraction.” I’m only halfway through the D’s, though so I imagine that this list will grow.

I highly recommend that you pick it up. Here’s the link:

I loved this book– glad to hear you liked it too; the end is amazing.

And she wrote some children’s books too! I highly recommend Cookies: Bite-sized Life Lessons and Little Pea. Good stuff.
