It’s about time I got an assistant!

www.inkthinkerblog.com — But seriously, folks, does anyone have a part-time assistant or intern for their home-based, single-person business? I’ve been thinking about looking into internships (read: free help) and would love input from anyone who’s hosted one before. Please e-mail me with your comments.

    That picture is so adorable!

Never really thought about having an assistant, though I do have two assistants working with me at WritersRemember.com, but that’s not a personal business thing. It’s a neat idea, so do share whatever input you receive that is helpful. I’d even be interested in helping you if you need. You’ve got some areas of expertise that I’m interested in honing, so you never know! :o)

Right now I’m learning a whole new side to my writing-editing career– childcare! I’m working as a part-time nanny watching an infant and a toddler in my home, and learning to ration my writing/editing time. It was a bit difficult at first (I’ve been watching them for almost 3 weeks), but now I’m getting an idea of how it will be when my husband and I have children, hopefully in the near future.

    Best of luck!

Thanks, Julia! I nannied all through college, while taking 18 credits every semester, so I know exactly what you’re going through. It’s a hard balance!

Kristen, are you saying that my sweater is ugly? I thought we were friends! No way am I going to help you learn Chicago now.
