The 2007 Query Challenge Pledge?

www.inkthinkerblog.com

Courtesy of my friend and yours, Lori Widmer:

I solemnly swear that I, Lori Diane Widmer Bean, shall get off my arse and send out 120 queries in as many days. I promise to make them GOOD queries, not just “Yo, editor! Try this on for size!” I promise to work like a busy beaver at finding new markets and new ideas, and at hitting up old markets with new ideas or regenerated ones. I promise to worship at the feet of one Kristen King, Super Freelancer, should half of these queries hit pay dirt. I promise to sing her praises to the mountaintops should I get even 20 gigs out of this. I promise to be her biggest fan even if I don’t sell a single one. :)

Okay, now who wants to put it to song? ;]

Is it too late to join? I have submitted several queries over the last few days, and I realized sheesh, I might as well start counting them and aim for 120. Can I count what I’ve already done? ;)

I think it would sound better as a Catholic priest Latin chant. Ah-ah-ah-aaaaaah-men.

Diane, you’re welcome to join at any time, and you can count queries retroactively to 12 a.m. January 10, 2007. Shoot me an e-mail with your info and I’ll add you to the list!

What a wonderful challenge for writers. I’ll catch you on the next go-around. I’m finishing a book, but keep me on your list to notify of the next time.
