Getting to Know the New Inkthinker: Information About the Template

www.inkthinkerblog.com — A couple of people have asked me about the new template here at www.inkthinkerblog.com, so I think I’d better clarify the three most commonly asked questions.

  1. YES, it is supposed to have four columns. Now, instead of having to scroll down and down and down to see the most recent posts, you get a snippet of all of them in about a screen and a half, without 27 miles of sidebar.
  2. NO, you should not have to register to post a comment, but YES, you do need to provide your name (which will be published) and your e-mail address (which is for me to contact you if there’s some kind of problem with your comment and which will not be published. If it’s telling you that you have to register, something is wrong. Try refreshing your browser while holding down the SHIFT key.
  3. YES, I know there are Google ads at the top of the posts. I put them there. And no, it’s not because I sold out to the man–it’s because I spend a lot of time on Inkthinker and I don’t get paid for it, so I need some way to recoup my costs.

Something else that’s baffling you? Post your question in the comments and I’ll be sure to clear it up for you. Thanks!

Just wanted to say I really like the template, very CMS without being CMS. :-) I’m just working on a new blog, so I’m cruising around looking for new ideas, and this one’s definitely given me some food for thought.

I can’t seem to find a way to subscribe to the RSS feed by email….

    Thanks for the comments, all!

Melissa, I had originally included the Feed Blitz widget and then it freaked out and took over the comment box, insisting that anyone who wanted to comment had to register to Feed Blitz and then not allowing the comment to post. I’m trying to find a better service, and to allow people to post comments in the meantime, I had to delete the widget. I’ll announce it when I find a new solution. Apologies for the inconvenience! Thanks for reading anyway. :]
