www.inkthinkerblog.com — April Fools Day was probably not the best timing for this announcement, but today Deb Ng formally announced that she has decided to sell Freelance Writing Jobs to James Chartrand of Men With Pens. I’m shocked. I’m saddened. And I’m also excited.
I know this freelance thing is a tough business, but I didn’t realize it was so tough that we’re losing the troops, and especially not pillars like Deb. This is one of those moments that I don’t really know how to feel. I’m proud of her for making what I know was a very difficult decision, but I’m also, honestly, kind of devastated. Deb’s site and Deb herself are staples in my writing life! And although I know she won’t disappear, I don’t like change — and this is a big one.
That being said, I couldn’t think of anyone I’d rather see take the reins of FWJ than James Chartrand. He’s class all the way, and a great writer. I think the community will be in very capable hands.
UPDATE!
They confessed — it was a TERRIBLE April Fool’s joke. Deb, we are so in a fight.
