www.inkthinkerblog.com — Thanks to those who pointed out that anesthesiologists ARE indeed doctors. Marjorie was correct that I was thinking of anesthesia technicians, not anesthesiologists.
Per Wikipedia…
ANESTHESIOLOGISTS In the US, medical doctors who specialize in anesthesiology are called anesthesiologists, and dentists who specialize in anesthesiology are called dental anesthesiologists. Such physicians in the UK, Canada and Australia are called anaesthetists or anaesthesiologists.
In the US, a physician specializing in anesthesiology completes 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 1 year of internship, and 3 years of residency. According to the American Society of Anesthesiologists, anesthesiologists provide or participate in more than 90 percent of the 40 million anesthetics delivered annually. (link)
ANESTHESIA TECHNICIANS Anesthesia technicians are specially trained biomedical technicians who assist anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, and anesthesiology assistants with monitoring equipment, supplies, and patient care procedures in the operating room. (link)
Apologies for any offense I may have given to the medical community.
For those who really enjoy my goofs, check out the post wherein I confused imposter and impostor and was called out by another reader. Good times, good times. Sigh.

Um, well, alright, but STILL – if you had already the attempt to knock yourself out under control, what would he have contributed? ;)
I once made a comment at a party about Jack Kevorkian not being a real doctor (he’s a pathologist) to, you guessed it, a pathologist.
I got lucky, there was no blogosphere then.
