www.inkthinkerblog.com — About a week ago, I subscribed to Suzanne Lieurance’s Morning Nudge (“Words to inspire and motivate you to get a little writing done today”). To be honest, I did it for the two free e-books that another blogger (Alicia, was that you?) mentioned. I figured I’d just unsubscribe from the free accompanying newsletter the first time I received it, but lo and behold, I really like it! In fact, I like it so much that I just e-mailed Suzanne a thank-you note to let her know how much it helps me every day. And, in fact, I like it so much that I think you should subscribe, too.
Go to Suzanne’s website and look for the e-book request form on the right about halfway down the first page. And while you’re there, take the Working Writers Quiz just below. Suzanne will e-mail you the results.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — On the back of a quiz completed in a comp class I took at the local college during my senior year of high school (presumably in response to the question “What is behind the yellow wallpaper?”):
Behind the yellow wallpaper is . . . (drumroll, please) a wall! However, the narrator believes it is a woman who wants to get out.
My professor’s response? “You are super!” with a line drawn to the “drumroll, please” part. (Yes, he was an odd one.) I got an A, but I probably should have gotten a talking-to about what is and is not an appropriate response to a quiz question (accuracy aside).

www.inkthinkerblog.com — I’ve discovered that I can customize my blog template, so things may be a little different from usual for a couple of hours. No worries! All will be back to normal — better than normal! — shortly.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — Color me annoyed. My internet went out on Friday, and it’s still kind of intermittent today. In addition, I’ve been having bizarre and unexplained issues with my regular e-mail address, which is making me nuts. I’m working on getting the online issues straightened out, and I’ve created a back-up e-mail address for emergencies only.
If you need to contact me and you get a bounce-back message from kristen@kristenkingfreelancing.com, please forward your original message to kristen [dot] skove [dot] king [at] gmail [dot] com. (Replace [dot] with a period and [at] with @ and close up the spaces, and you’ll be in business.) Please use this address only if you can’t get through to me through my regular address, and please attach the error message you received so I can help my e-mail provider figure out what’s going on.
Thanks for your patience!

www.inkthinkerblog.com — Pomegranates. I’m addicted to pomegranates. During the winter, I go through about five of those amazing things a week. I’m a pom-a-day kind of gal.
I think I craved pomegranate my whole life, but didn’t know that was what I wanted until a couple of years ago, when a friend gave me one she picked up at the Amish market. It was delicious, and I ate it one seed at a time.
Pomegranates have nothing to do with writing. It’s been a rough day, however, and that does have something to do with writing — and the pomegranate I’m eating right now, seed by seed, is reminding me that sometimes you miss the flavor in life if you don’t take some time to slow down and savor it a little at a time. That was definitely missing from my day today. Here’s hoping that tomorrow I can consume the day as slowly and with as much delight as I do this gorgeous red fruit.
