www.inkthinkerblog.com — Demented M’s recent blog post “Exposition and I” is a great follow-up to the article she “shamelessly hounded” me to write on “Showing vs. Telling in First-Person POV” after initially seeing my slightly less lengthy “Showing vs. Telling” post a few weeks earlier.
She provides some great examples of books that employed showing and telling effectively in first-person narration, including excerpts from J.A. Konrath, C.E. Murphy, Laurel K. Hamilton, and Janet Evanovich. Go check it out, and leave a comment so she knows you were there.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — Because I am eating the “awesomest” salad right now.
This is another reason that I love working from home. I’m not limited to sandwich shops within walking distance of my overly air-conditioned office building. I get to pick what I eat, when I eat, and where I eat, and I am solely in charge of the temperature (when the AC is actually functioning, that is).
The only downside to this is that if there’s nothing in the house, I actually have to get in the car and go get something, but usually I don’t mind too much. It’s a nice way to break up the day and get some human contact that doesn’t involve complicated acronyms and emoticons.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — I’m having a great time finding new content for my sidebar. I would love for it to go all the way down to the bottom of the actual blog content, but that seems nearly impossible. What’s missing that you’d like to see more of? (Yes, I know I ended that sentence with a preposition, okay? I KNOW IT, and I DID IT ON PURPOSE. How do you like THAT?) And please, more monkey pictures are not on the table.
