(www.inkthinkerblog.com) — Did you know that March 4 is National Grammar Day, as designated by the Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar and MSN Encarta? (I posted about it last year, so you should!)
Visit the official National Grammar Day website for some fun grammar goodies:
- Links to dozens of great grammar blogs
- A Bad Grammar Hall of Fame Playlist that includes such favorites as the Doors’ “Touch Me,” The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” America’s “Horse With No Name,” and others.
- A list of Top 10 Grammar Tips
- Information about Things That Make Us (Sic): The Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar Takes on Madison Avenue, Hollywood, the White House, and the World (pictured at right)
What grammar no-nos make you cringe the most? “I could care less” makes me want to smack someone. So does saying “fustrated” instead of “frustrated.” There’s an R, people!
Happy National Grammar Day, friends. Make it a good one.

Great topic! My kids know I’m a stickler for grammar (I view chatspeak as the visual equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard) – they’ll be seeing this post today after school. :)

The misues of then/than. Oh, and the use of “weary” when it should be “leary.” And the use of “myself” instead of “I” or “me.” And….
I confess I am a recent initiate to the concept of people saying “fustrated.”
And I just think it’s giggle-tastic!
