It’s Here! It’s Here!

When I found the box from AWAI sitting on the kitchen counter this afternoon, I was so excited. I love getting mail, especially packages, especially stuff I’ve ordered and am waiting for. I made myself wait until I was finished working for the day before I even brought it up into the office. I sliced through the tape (“Pickles, it’s here! Are you so excited? Are you as excited as Mommy? Are you so excited?”), peeled back the flaps, flung out the crumpled paper, and found…
(1) The entire course, in a handy-dandy binder, with a nice (but generic) welcome letter.

(2) “Materials for Writing Your First Sales Letter” PLUS! “Success Stories of Members Who Already Have”

(3) “Special Bonus Section: AWAI’s Four-Legged Stool”

(4) An ehhh-quality (digitally printed, and not phenomenally) book called Hall of Fame: Great Selling Ideas from 50 Super-Successful Direct Mail Letters and Direct Response Ads (but the content, what I can read of it, actually looks pretty decent)

(5) A purse-sized booklet called “How to Safely & Quickly Change Careers”

I flipped through everything and am starting to get a little excited! Can you tell? Are you as excited as Kristen? Are you? Are you? Are you as excited as Kristen?

Oh, wait, you’re not Pickles…

Just for Fun: Kristen As Candy

www.inkthinkerblog.com

You already know what I would look like on the cover of a romance novel…

Here’s what it would look like if I were an M&M:

Note the sassy bag and almost-but-not-quite-matching cowboy boots.

Today’s To-Do List

www.inkthinkerblog.com

I have a ton of stuff to get done today, and I need some accountability to make it happen! Here’s what’s on my plate:

  • finish my dozen or so in-progress articles and submit them to ezinearticles.com
  • revise a press release for the Article Challenge
  • post on LivelyWomen.com
  • finish editing an article on stem cell research
  • start editing some oncology articles
  • work on my Subsidiary Rights project (due Thursday!!!)
  • finish the book proposal I’m writing for a client
  • finish critique for project 1 and quote for project 2 for another client
  • strategize on how to get more copywriting jobs for publishers’ seasonal catalogs
  • submit some QUERIES!!!!!

Okay, time to get cracking, especially since I have a doctor’s appointment in 15 minutes (and I’m not dressed yet), my Bible study at 1 (and I haven’t finished the chapter), and a book study meeting at 7 (and I haven’t even started prepping for that yet). Oy!

What are you working on today?
