www.inkthinkerblog.com — Have you ever thought to yourself, “Man, there’s just so much information in the U.S. Copyright Code. Why can’t find a way to make it easy for people to understand and remember?” I know I have. Then I found this. I don’t advise that you use it as your definitive source for copyright info, but if you’re in need of a good laugh or if the real thing is a bit daunting, it’s a great place to start.
So, would you call this a derivative work, or a parody? It doesn’t really matter much anyway since Title 17 is a work of the U.S. government and thus is exempt from copyright protection, but, you know, always trying to stimulate your collective minds.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — Rant warning!
There are lots of ways to not get the freelance writing job you want, but I’m going to focus on one fool-proof way to not get the job: publicly post a desperate, gramatically incorrect, plea for gigs somewhere that’s intended as a jobs board, not a “hire me please” board. To ensure that you absolutely will not be considered ever by anyone who reads your plea, include your real name, real e-mail address, and real website instead of going the anonymous route (which won’t make you any friends, but leaves open the possibility that if someone were to come across you in the future, your name wouldn’t immediately call up recollections of Anonymous Desperate Writer). No wonder so many people think we’ll work for nothing.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — You may be wondering, “Kristen, what look is this? It’s not ‘glam-tastic,’ that’s for sure. What gives?
Well, not every photo has to say all of these (but there are some things your picture shouldn’t say). You can pick one or two of the Kristen-approved photo messages below, or add some choices of your own.
“I’m classy.”
“I’m dependable.”
“I’m funny.”
“I’m real.”
“I’m reliable.”
“I’m confident.”
“You can count on me.”
“This is how I’ll dress at our first meeting.”
“I won’t embarrass you.”
So what look is this? This is the “I’m real/funny/inquisitive/in a silly mood/in love with my camera phone” look, also known as the “See how long my hair has gotten?” look and the “Do you like my new glasses?” look and the “I love to play with saturation and exposure in Photoshop” look.
Thanks to Dana for inspiring me to have my own Photo Friday.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — I can’t decide if this dude is a total psycho/moron or so smart that I can’t keep up with him. His name is Gerard Jones, and he’s compiled what he describes as “a free, searchable, 1.2 GB online e-mail and web address directory of around fifteen thousand (15,000) of the most influential ignoramuses in the media and entertainment industries whose perverse job it is to keep themselves and others brainwashed beyond belief,” complete with names, contact info, and correspondence or editorial comments in some cases for like a bajillion and a half agents in the US, the UK, and Canada. Visiting the site is kind of like watching Jerry Springer. I think to myself, “Gerry, Gerry, Gerry!” as I read it. It might be my new guilty pleasure.
