www.inkthinkerblog.com — From Karen:
I just wanted you to know I had one of my queries picked up by Parenting magazine. I actually sent them a small, written piece for their FOB section, and then rec’d a reply saying my pitch had been accepted and here was my assignment – to write a longer article for the FOB! I was surprised, as I hadn’t exactly sent a pitch and didn’t’ plan to do more reporting on the subject, but I was pleased as it meant more pay. My article on green schools is slated to appear in the April issue.
Woohoo! Talk about a happy misunderstanding! Be sure to send us a link when the article runs.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — Query Challenge Success Story from Sharon Hurley Hall in her own words…
I’ve used the query challenge to inspire me to get more proactive about bidding, With 30 bids out in January, I hoped something good would happen – and it did. I have now signed freelancing agreements with two new companies, which pay quite well. I also picked up a project on GetAFreelancer, and I’m sure that will lead to repeat work. Some people took a while to get back to me, but it was worth the wait. I can’t wait to see what happens in February!
That is excellent, Sharon, and proof that when you put yourself out there, it pays off! Great job.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — According to this Google Search Engine Results Page Rank Position Tool, Inkthinker isn’t even in the first 200 results when you search “freelance writing blog.” Ouch. Today, I’m starting an informal SEO campaign to see if I can’t get Inkthinker into the top 25 results by the end of March.
Before I reveal my methods, I want to see if it works. I will keep you posted. If you think you see the things I’m doing on the blog itself, leave a comment with your observations. Here’s a hit: some of my attempts are already visible.
I’m also doing the same thing for my other blogs, so let’s see what happens! If you have any tips, please leave them in the comments. And in the meantime, if you haven’t linked to Inkthinker in your blogroll, I would surely appreciate the link love now.

www.inkthinkerblog.com — If you haven’t read the comment trail over on “Should Professional Freelancers Write PLR Articles? You Decide,” get yourself to the post and weigh in. We’re having some great discussion with very well-reasoned points from all participants. This is what blogging is all about, people. Love it!
And here are some blog posts inspired by the remarks we’ve seen so far:
Will Content Kill the Web? The Web is on a crash course for disaster. There’s a glut of content out there, with more added daily in phenomenal amounts. The information is repetitive and redundant. The churned-out content that fills up the Internet is making it hard for people to sort out the good and the accurate from the ugly. Read more >>>
PLR: Legitimate Business Model or Morally Bankrupt? At first glance, PLR looks like it might be fairly lucrative. But I’ve seen writers argue that it’s not only a bad business decision, but it’s morally wrong. I’m on the fence about this. I’m not sure PLR is for me, but I’m not convinced it’s the devil, either–and I know a number of experienced freelance web writers who include it as part of their business model. I don’t sell PLR and I’m not promoting it here–I have absolutely no reason to–but some objections to it strike me as a bit overblown. Here are the arguments I’ve come across on why PLR is the spawn of Satan–and my responses to these arguments. Read more >>>
